This owner-run semi-detached cottage is located in the pleasant garden suburb of Pinelands.  It is conveniently situated, with Cape Town and the International Airport a fifteen-minute drive away.  Your hosts are Tom Hughes, a retired teacher and ex-tourist guide, his wife, Karen, and their daughter, Sarah (Cottage Manager).
 
 
The Facilities
  • The lounge-dining room is fully furnished and contains a television (with satellite connection / DsTv), video machine, radio and CD player.
    (There is a sleeper-couch if two extra berths are required.)
  • The bedroom has a double bed, dressing table and wardrobe.
    The en suite bathroom contains a toilet, shower and wash basin.
  • The kitchen has a four-plate gas stove and oven, a microwave, kettle, toaster, refrigerator, and is equipped for full self-catering.
  • A health breakfast will be provided, if required (on request).
  • Barbecue / braaivleis facilities are available (also on request).
  • Laundry services will be provided if required (pro rata).
  • Secure under-cover, off-street parking is provided, with direct access to the cottage.
  • Private garden.
     
Please note:
  • As the cottage does not have a telephone, we suggest that visitors use a mobile / cell phone.
  • Be aware that cats run the main house, but are not intrusive.
  • Children welcome.
     
How to find us:
  • Take the Pinelands turn-off from the N2 motorway.
  • Follow Forest Drive.
  • Take the second turning right after the BP petrol station / traffic lights into The Crescent, which becomes Nightingale Way.
  • Turn right into Linnet Way, then left into Egret Way.
  • The cottage, on your right, is on the corner of Linnet / Egret Ways.
 

 

The Ideal Location:

Aaron’s Rod is ideally and centrally situated (and Tom Hughes will be happy to advise you, whether you are visiting for business or pleasure).  A few minutes drive away are Mowbray and Rondebosch golf courses, (Old) Mutual Park, the Howard Shopping Centre, Vincent Palotti Hospital, and several excellent restaurants.

The University of Cape Town, the Red Cross Memorial Children’s Hospital, and Epping Industrial area can be reached in ten minutes.  Cape Town City centre and Cape Town International Airport are within a fifteen minute drive, as are the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Grand West Casino, Canal Walk, and Table Mountain Cableway.

Beaches, both Atlantic and False Bay, are close by, while the Constantia, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl Wine Routes are within easy reach - half-an-hour or so.

Cancellation Policy:
  • Cancellations 0 - 14 days prior to check-in date forfeit 100% of the deposit
  • Cancellations 14 - 28 days prior to check-in date forfeit 50% of the depoist
  • Cancellatoins more than 28 days prior to check-in date forfeit 25% of the depoist
     
  • Cancellations less than 96 hours before check-in date will incur full charges
  • Bookings are held for 24 hours pending deposit received
